You Don’t Need To Be Fixed

Somewhere along the way, we started believing a dangerous lie: that if we’re struggling, something must be wrong with us. We must be broken. We must need fixing.

But here’s the truth:

You don’t need to be fixed.

You need to be supported.

You need a plan.

You need to be coached.

The Coaching Difference

At Focus On Fewer, I work with students and adults who are overwhelmed by too much input—whether that’s academic pressure, poor time management, procrastination, or simply the stress of trying to make too many decisions with too little structure.

I’m not a therapist. I don’t diagnose. I don’t dive into the past to unpack trauma.

I’m a coach. I help you move forward.

While therapy is invaluable and necessary for many, coaching offers a future-focused, action-oriented alternative. Think of therapy as a deep-dive to heal the “why,” and coaching as a guided journey to figure out the “what now.”

Coaching Helps You Build Skills, Not Dependence

My coaching practice is centered on building executive functioning skills—the core abilities that help us manage time, organize information, prioritize tasks, and follow through.

Coaching clients often say things like:

  • “I know what I should be doing, I just can’t seem to make myself do it.”

  • “I get so anxious about where to start that I end up doing nothing.”

  • “My life isn’t falling apart, but it’s definitely not working.”

These aren’t signs of failure. They’re signs of friction—and coaching helps reduce that friction with real strategies and customized support.

After working with me, my coaching clients (and their parents) say things like:

  • "Great person and amazing help. She has helped me so much with the start of my college career and can't wait to finish it with her." ~ College Freshman

  • “My time with Mrs. Langston isn't only talking about school. She asks ‘How are you?’, ‘How is life outside of school?’, ‘How is work?’ and that's very important to me. We talk about how everything in my life impacts what happens at school.” ~ College Senior

  • “Focus On Fewer Coaching has empowered and encouraged our son and improved our relationship with him because it’s no longer me standing over him telling him what to do. Now, Rachel provides accountability and I get to be his biggest fan and cheerleader.” ~ College Parent

What the Research Says

  • A 2023 survey by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) found that 80% of coaching clients report improved self-confidence, and over 70% experience improved work performance and time management.

  • A study published in The Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability found that executive function coaching significantly improves college students’ ability to set goals, reduce procrastination, and manage stress.

  • Life coaching, according to research from Frontiers in Psychology, has been shown to improve resilience, personal growth, and goal attainment in non-clinical populations.

These are real outcomes that come not from “fixing,” but from forward motion.

What Coaching Looks Like at Focus On Fewer

At Focus On Fewer, we focus on:

✅ Establishing clarity: What’s in your “big picture”? We start by identifying all the things that require your time, attention, and/or effort.

✅ Reducing chaos: What distractions are clouding your time and attention?

✅ Creating simple systems: What small changes could bring huge relief?

✅ Increasing confidence: How can we build on your strengths?

Whether you’re a college student trying to keep up with coursework or a young adult trying to adult (without losing your mind), my goal is to help you Focus On Fewer—because fewer things done well are more powerful than all the things done halfway.

You’re Not Broken. You’re Building.

You don’t need to be fixed. You need to be coached!

If you or someone you know is struggling with feeling stuck, scattered, or just unsure how to move forward, let’s talk. Coaching could be the support that makes all the difference.
